WHOIS for the site you are on

Drag the button to your bookmarks bar. On any site, click it and dotbunker opens with that domain's record. It works out the domain behind a subdomain for you, so news.example.co.uk lands on example.co.uk.

   Cmd+Shift+B on a Mac, Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows and Linux.

   Drop it anywhere on the bar. Rename it to something short if you like.

   Click it on any site

   The record opens in a new tab. The site you were on stays where it was.

What it does, and what it does not

It reads the domain in your address bar and opens a tab on dotbunker. It does not read the page you are on, it sends nothing anywhere, and it loads no code from us: the line above is the whole thing, and it cannot change after you have saved it.

Where it will not work

• Phones and tablets have no bookmarks bar. Use the address bar keyword below instead.
• Browser pages such as settings, the new tab page or an extension store. Browsers do not run bookmarklets there.
• A few sites with a strict security policy. Firefox is the stricter one here; the keyword below always works.

Add this as a custom search engine with a keyword like w. Then typing w example.com in the address bar goes straight to the record. This one works on phones too.
